Effective Date: 7th of December 2025

1. Introduction

The Gonzo Youth Theatre (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (“the App”) collects, uses, and shares personal data from all its users, including “Facilitators,” “Guardians,” “Young People,” and other “Users.”

2. Information We Collect

We collect various types of information to provide and improve our services, categorised by user role:

  • For All Users (including Facilitators, Guardians, Young People, and other Users):

    • Account and Profile Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, User ID (UID), role, and optionally, your pronouns.
    • App Usage and Preferences:
      • Notifications: If you grant permission, we collect your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you push notifications.
      • Calendar Sync: If you opt-in for calendar synchronisation, we store your preference for calendar synchronisation and the version of your synced calendar.
      • Local Calendar Access: If you opt-in for calendar synchronisation, the App requests permission to access your local device calendar. This access allows the App to view all events in your calendar. We do not store, transmit, or otherwise interact with any other existing calendar events. The App only interacts with calendar events that it has created, for the purpose of facilitating their synchronisation. This feature is optional and requires your explicit consent.
      • Content and Interactions (General):
        • Reports: If you submit a report, we collect your User ID as the reporter, the ID of the reported message or user, and the timestamp of the report.
    • Transactional Data:
      • Tickets: We store records of event tickets you acquire, including the event ID, your User ID, and any assigned raffle IDs.
  • For Guardians:

    • Account and Profile Information: We collect associated Young Person IDs and your phone number (provided to the app by other parts of the business).
    • Content and Interactions:
      • Chat Messages: We collect sender and receiver IDs, message content, timestamp, and the sender’s name for messages sent within the app’s chat feature when interacting with Facilitators.
    • Transactional Data:
      • Payments: We collect payment details such as the Young Person ID, term ID, amount, payment date, and method (when managing payments for associated Young People).
      • Subscriptions: We collect information regarding your subscriptions, including your User ID, status, creation date, and cancellation date (if applicable).
  • For Young People:

    • Account and Profile Information: We collect associated Guardian IDs, age (provided to the app by other parts of the business), and age group (provided to the app by other parts of the business).
  • For Facilitators:

    • Content and Interactions:
      • Posts: For posts created by Facilitators, we collect the title, message content, uploaded media (images/videos, their URLs, types, and aspect ratios), timestamp, and any age group targeting.
      • Chat Messages: We collect sender and receiver IDs, message content, timestamp, and the sender’s name for messages sent within the app’s chat feature when interacting with Guardians.
