New members must sign up via our waiting list. We accept new members generally at the start of our academic year’s term one in September, when spaces open up.
Each term consists of 10 weeks and costs €100 per term. We run three terms each year.
Yes! We focus on both devised and scripted performances, ensuring that all members have opportunities to develop their acting skills and take part in improvisations and productions throughout the year.
You can explore our website for more details: www.gonzoyouththeatre.ie.
Our current class schedule is:
- Ages 8-10 – Saturday 9.30 – 11.00am
- Ages 11-13 – Saturday 11.15am – 1.00pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm
- Ages 14+ – Saturday 4.00 – 6.00pm
Exact times may change based on productions and group sizes. If you’re on the waiting list, we’ll contact you when a place becomes available with class times and details.
Our classes run weekly during term time. However, we do have occasional breaks for holidays or special events. We always notify parents in advance via email and social media.
Typically, we pause for major holidays, but additional rehearsals may be scheduled before a performance, especially at Easter. We generally close for the summer months. Any holiday closures will be communicated well in advance.
If a class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will send an email notification to all affected parents. Please check your inbox and spam folder regularly to ensure you receive updates.
If your child needs to miss a class, please drop us an email and let us know, especially when production rehearsals are in motion. If however, they will be absent for an extended period, please let us know so we can update our records.
We currently divide members into the following groups:
- Ages 8-10 (Dmitri)
- Ages 11-13 (Lisa)
- Ages 14+ (Kevin)
Generally, children must be the correct age for their group at the start of the term. Our improvisations and drama exercises are age appropriate so we don’t encourage young people moving up to an older age range too early. Exceptions are rare but may be considered if:
- The child is only a few weeks from aging into the next group.
- They have demonstrated exceptional ability and maturity.
- Moving up would significantly benefit their development.
All exceptions are at the discretion of the facilitators.
No. When you child is the right age they will be moved up to their appropriate age level. It can be counter-productive to leave an older child in a younger grouping.
If your child is right at the cutoff between two groups, we will discuss the best placement based on their confidence, experience, and comfort level.
Gonzo Youth Theatre runs three 10-week terms per year. Each term costs €100 per student.
- Term 1(September – December)
- Term 2 (January – March)
- Term 3 (April – June)
Payments must be made online through our Membership Renewal Page.
We strongly encourage all payments to be made online via our website. However, if you have no recourse to cash, we can accept it if needs be. Please keep a record or receipt to confirm your payment.
If you receive a reminder about unpaid fees but believe you have already paid, please check:
- The name or account used for payment (sometimes payments are made under a different family member’s name).
- Your bank or online payment receipt.

Yes. As we approach a performance, attendance becomes crucial. We encourage members to prioritise rehearsals during this period to ensure a smooth production. We also encourage parents to prioritise Gonzo Youth Theatre during this time, just as they would for sport if the team was heading to a final.
We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise. If your child will not be able to perform, please inform us as early as possible. We can often find ways for them to still be involved in rehearsals or assist in other capacities.
Yes. In the lead-up to a performance, we schedule additional rehearsals, including a full week over the Easter school holidays for our 14+yrs group and a full-day rehearsal on the June Bank-Holiday Monday for our 11-13yrs group.
Details on extra rehearsals will always be communicated well in advance.
To ensure a focused and comfortable creative environment, rehearsals are closed sessions. However, we do share behind-the-scenes content on our social media pages.
