Gonzo Youth Theatre was established in 2010. It aims to provide access to drama for young people aged between 8 – 23 years, by promoting, developing and supporting high-quality youth theatre, with an emphasis on the attainment of artistic excellence and on personal and social development. We are based at Gonzo Hub, Dublin Rd., Cavan, County Cavan, opposite McDonalds; Eircode – H12 Y8P5

Gonzo Youth Theatre is aimed at anyone with an interest in any aspect of drama (acting – for theatre or film, music, dance, sound, lighting, production management, event management or script-writing).

Once a week the group meet in planned workshops, provided by their experienced facilitator Kevin O’Connor, assisted by Lisa and Raquel. Sometimes experts in a particular field (e.g. mime, stagecraft, voice etc.) are invited to provide specialist workshops. This specialist training is an intrinsic part of the experience and skill-building of youth theatre. Trips to the theatre and for outside workshops are also organised.

Our classes take place every Friday and Saturday during our three Terms, with three separate age groups catering for: 8-10 year olds, 11-13-year-olds and 14+ years.

• Term 1 (September – December)
• Term 2 (January – March)
• Term 3 (April – June)
